three's company? a poolside frogboy pile-up

I DON’T EVEN KNOW how to explain this one, except to point out they are all male frogs, and it didn’t end well. This poolside pile-up continued until the one on the upper deck managed to capsize the lot, and a fight ensued that lasted most of the day. (You can click the photo to see it a little larger, by the way.)

The animal kingdom is still way ahead of their human counterparts. It still may be years until we can gain THIS level of acceptance…

Hi, Danielle…and fortunately everyone is still alive out there, even though they really fought like mad. Silly boys. nice to see you; hope to again soon.

Yes, Jacob — exactly! (Or boys will be monkeys…) These guys are insane this year; 7 males in one small pond and only 1 female.

Hi, Debbie. As for the duckweed, I don’t have fish in the pool where it is floating (just frogs) so I am not sure what would happen. I use a mix of Lemna and Azolla (two species of similar looking pond weeds), by the way.

That is adorable! ‘Frogs on a bob sled’…lol…cute description! :)
I miss frogs in my ponds…my cats don’t like them (or maybe like them too much?). Do you have fish in your pond, and if so, how do you manage to keep so much duckweed? I’ll bring a bucket full from the fish-less pond to the fish-full pond and within a day it is gone.

What a cute photo! I wonder why the three frogs are lined up in such an orderly manner! :)
