DOES THAT IMAGE ABOVE LOOK FAMILIAR? It was the latest gift that blogging friends have been showering me with as I approach the Wednesday publication date of my book, “And I Shall Have Some Peace There.” In thousands of infinitesimal bits of recycled paper and fabric and who knows what, the collage depicts my little world here in astonishing detail, thanks to artist Mel Kolstad. It was commissioned by the inspirational Pam Kueber of Retro Renovation–both of them corporate dropouts like I am, by the way. The collage backstory, and more sweet offerings, including roasted tomato soup, parsley pesto, and some hard questions about myself that I was prompted to answer. All by clicking here.

So happy for you!! and I can’t wait until the book comes out….have been waiting for it for months…rec’d a certificate at Christmas for it:))
I just stumbled upon your blog, I can’t even remember how I got here now….but I LOVE it!!! I saw your pic and you look familiar and then after navigating around I realized that I recognized you from Martha Stewart years ago. I have been trying to find a really good garden blog for several months without much success, I’m sorry to say and so I’m rejoicing for landing on yours.
We purchased a small farm (11.25 acres) 1 1/2 years ago that was in foreclosure and we planted 34 trees last year (foundation trees) plus a vegetable garden…we just left the nursery yesterday where we ordered several more trees and are planning a small orchard and berry patch… so you can understand why I was so inspired by your blog. I love the slideshows with their detailed explanations the most and the plant selections….I’ve been a fan of Martha for years, just because she does things so well with such an eye for detail and I can certainly see why she wanted you as garden editor…looking forward to more time to search your blog and upcoming posts! Thanks,
Jeanna
Welcome, Jo, and thank you for the kindness. I assume you will have it any moment now…I know Amazon and others have been shipping already…so thanks for the patience.
Welcome, Jeanna, and yes, it’s me — the ex-Martha person. Funny you mention that, since I will be on her show on Friday the 25th; she loved my book (boy, was I nervous sending it to her!). Holler if you nee danything; I’m here or on the contact form up top.
I knew I recognized that collage! What a sweet gift. Never know what Pam will be up to. Congratulations on the book…and Martha? good for you for taking the chance and sending it to her.
Welcome, Denise, and thank you. Yes, Pam (as my father would have said) is a pip! Love her energy, her passion. Admirable, impressive. Thanks for your kind words, and say hello again soon.
