“And I Shall Have Some Peace There” (2011) is about my decision to finally leave my fastlane city career and live fulltime in the garden. It’s about making a life change, and what happens when you do; many readers of different ages have written to say it helped them with a transition time in their lives, whether they gardened or not. The garden figures heavily in the “Peace” story–but “The Backyard Parables: Lessons on Gardening, and Life” (2013) is entirely about the garden, including both memoir and how-to sidebars within the text.
“Eat, Pray, Love” author Liz Gilbert called my writing “a blessing” after she read “Parables,” and I hope you will agree.
