join us june 6, 2015:
open day, plant sale & natives lecture
ANDY BRAND will be the guest lecturer on June 6, 2015 at my garden open day in Copake Falls, New York, at an 11 AM lecture at the Church of St. John in the Wilderness, just down the road. The title of his talk is, “America the Beautiful: Why to Celebrate Native Plants in Our Landscapes (and Which Ones Are Most Garden-Worthy).” Reserve a lecture ticket.
11 AM lecture: Learn to make the ultimate butterfly garden, and invite birds and more. Andy Brand is founder of the Connecticut Butterfly Society, and manager of Broken Arrow Nursery, so he has a special understanding of what plants really work to create beautiful and hard-working habitat. Tickets. Read my recent interview with Andy, or listen to the podcast.
Garden visiting, and plant sale, 10-4: Broken Arrow holds a giant plant sale in my driveway (pictured below) during each of my public days, too. Get directions to the garden.
Plus: Birdwalk 9 AM till 10:15. Noted bird expert Will Yandik will lead a birdwalk on spectacular adjacent private land with great diversity (birdwalk tickets at this link).
All events to benefit Friends of Taconic State Park and the Garden Conservancy. Join us for some or all of the goings-on!
- Plus: There are four other Garden Conservancy gardens open nearby Saturday the 6th, so plan to make a day of garden-visiting. All the details on the other gardens, including directions to my place and theirs.
