These infinitesimal creatures kill the Japanese beetle grubs that I think you are describing. I did this because I had a surge in moles, who eat the grubs, as you can read about in this post from the blog: https://awaytogarden.com/mole-patrol Milky Spore, a bacterium, is another tactic against grubs, but takes several years to become effective apparently; if you decide to use it (or both things) I’d buy it from a source that specializes in such materials so it’s viable and does the job.
