I am in Zone 6B, and I still have the foliage of spent tulips lying around soaking up bulb energy for next year. But my veggie bed is already planted in onions, potatoes, greens, peas, etc – and I will be ready to plant the solanaceous veg before the bulb foliage is gone. How do you manage the transition from bulbs to vegetables each year?
Do you leave the bulbs in and use no-till gardening methods, maybe marking the bulb rows and planting veg in-between? Or do you pull the bulbs and plant fresh ones each year? Or… ?
