I’m a beginning gardener, and I’m working on taming my urban yard into a garden oasis. I have many tools, but am unsure how to maintain them… even simple things like the shovels, forks, and pruners.
What do I sharpen? When? What do I oil? What kind of oil? Where can I buy some oil? Do I have to clean everything before winter? Do I have to keep them very clean in the "busy season?" Can I just use some steel wool (or SOS pads?) to clean/sharpen things? I have no clue.
Please help! I’m in Denver, so the climate is DRY and relatively mild… my tool handles are aging fast!
