Hi Margaret,
I love your site. We bought a house last year (in the Chicago area) and some landscaping has been done, but I’d like to start some flower gardens that I can add to over time. I have been considering ordering a "preplanned" perennial garden from a mail-order nursery. It just seems less overwhelming and will give me a plan to work from. Do you or any of your readers have any thoughts on the merit of doing this? Has anyone done it with good or bad results?
Also, the area where I plan to plant the flowers is currently grass. Can you point me to a resource where I can learn how best to make this into flower beds?
Thanks,
Katie
