It is growing beneath my red cedar and although it appears to be a tender item, it has held up well to the drought and high temps of this North Texas summer. I can’t bring myself to pull it up or toss vinegar on to it. I was surprised by a butternut squash volunteer, earlier this spring/summer, just a few feet from where this is.
