Can it be that plants change colors once in my soil?
A maidenhair fern with black stems that I just HAD to have hasn’t had black stems for me since their first season. They are dividing nicely and flourishing, but they aren’t quite the striking accent I counted on. They were definitely black-stemmed when I bought the plants.
Maybe the light is wrong? They get some pretty bright morning sunlight.
I looked this up on the Internet and there are some 200 kinds of maidenhair ferns – this group of plants has always been confusing for me as there is no overall name for the "fern" group. Here is a picture of the one I bought. http://barrieb.wordpress.com/2008/05/11 … hair-fern/
