My beloved cat died a week ago last year, and I buried her under a mature lilac bush next to the patio, a favorite perch of hers. Alas, it appears that the burial did enough damage to the lilac’s roots that the result is that there are almost no flowers this year, although the foliage and limbs appear healthy and vibrant. Any thoughts about what care and treatment to provide that would ensure the renewal of full flowering next spring?
