I’m a New York City escapee and am getting back into gardening. I’ve been trying to figure out my local (Ellenville) frost dates but the more I search the more confused I get. The Victory Seed Co. says last frost for Albany (closest I can find to me) is 5/24. But the 2009 Farmers Almanac says end of April and another chart I found lists 5/5. I called the local extension office and the lovely master gardener was vague about dates.
I know each garden has its unique climate and this obsession is probably unimportant, the result of months cooped up by the wood stove. I should let go and focus on my breathing until the ground has drained… but I harbor hope I’ll find a definitive answer!
