One bit of advice in addition to the pinching – when you plant them in the garden put their support system in place right then. it will look a little silly because it will be so much taller than the plants, but it will save some heartache later. Your plants will be bushy and top heavy and prone to toppling so if they can grow up through the stakes or cages or whatever you use they will be much happier.
