So far the rain dance has been working this week but I’ll definitely be considering some better water solutions in the future. I hadn’t thought of multiple buckets though I do now have a designated gray water bucket and use that indoor excess for my outdoor patio garden. At the moment the watering is a bit meditative and very conscious. You feel differently about water when you have to haul it. No longer is it this abundant thing that just comes from turning the spout.
I plan to mulch around the plants around mid-June when the weather warms up a bit more to retain moisture. As for future garden plans even further away from the spigot — I may do black plastic rows for heat loving sun loving plants. The plastic also retains moisture.
Still I think there must be a strap it on your back and water wand the plants solution somewhere….
