Joyce, My Baptisia flop also, but I’ve never cut back since I love the seed pods. I’ve used gro-thrus, but my preferred method is to tie in the offenders to a well hidden stake, this retains a more natural shape, then as the seed pods weight down the stems you can easily adjust or tie in others.
