Where are you located? If you are in the Northeast, then fall is a great time to do a bed redesign. We tend to have a little extra water in the fall which is a great help for newly divided and transplanted perennials. Just make sure to give the plants enough time to get re-established before the first frost (the first couple weeks of September should give them enough time) and don’t try to divide or transplant anything that is questionably hardy for you. It is also a great time to move the Ribes odoratum and to plant new shrubs too.
