The red buckeye, Aesculus pavia, is native to the coastal plain of North Carolina but quite hardy in my Zone 5 garden. It is a large shrub or small tree, perhaps 12 feet high and wide, and leafs out early with chestnut-like foliage. The red flowers are just coming on.

i have been obsessed with this plant!
i lived in near a university campus that had aesculus ‘brioti’ planted along a walk,
and this was my compromise for a small, urban garden.
it has a charm of its own, though, as its not as showy.
i am glad to see it in another northern garden.
it means mine has a chance of lasting.

I think yours looks very beautiful, too, and I see that Lazy S’S Nursery (in sources) sells both…and A. pavia is like $11.95 for a quart pot; ‘Briotti’ is twice that! I guess that means you have the jewel.
