E. cotinifolia is a tender euphorbia, but one I like a lot better than the most famous tender one: the poinsettia. You can almost see the similarities in this photo, though. I grow it in pots and try to carry them over in a sleepy state indoors, barely watering it, and it often defoliates. But a cutback and spring’s light and increasing warmth usually bring it right back. A shrubby thing, like its Christmas cousin, that will grow and grow if allowed.
