i started gardening out of nostalgia; my grandparents farmed.
That it is a lovely answer. I had been racking my brain trying to figure out why I garden and then, with a startle, Elizabeth’s answer made me remember that I garden because my mother gardened. She was happiest in her garden and it made her happier in all the other things she did. (In fact, her gravestone reads, "Her life was a well tended garden") Anyway, that’s why I garden. Because my mom did.
Thanks for the reminder Elizabeth.
