Just wondering about soil additives that I have mixed…I heard that coffee grounds, blood meal, pearlite, bone meal, crushed dried leaves, used orchid potting mix, & various peelings can help my gardening soil….My tomatoes last season, in pots, did just Okay, while others planted in the ground did amazingly well with that homemade soil added! Colorado in the summer is brutal to plants especially in pots, but the cooler ground plants did much better…I even sprayed the pots white, to try & protect from sun. Shady areas didn’t help the plants. Any other suggestions? Thanks!
