I hate to say it, but I can’t get anything done without dousing myself in Off (at least they make a non-aerosol version). Sometimes if I’m working in a small area lighting a fire in the bar-b-q will keep them away. Also, wearing long sleeves and pants (unpleasant). You can buy a bat ‘house’ to put on your shed or a tree near the woods, to try and attract bats, but I don’t know how much of a difference it will actually make. Every bit helps, though!
