After bringing lupines up from seed last year, with no bloom, this year I got my colorful spectacular reward. The crazy thunderstorm last Tuesday tipped those rocket-blossoms over, though, and it looks like there’s no more fun to be had. So what now? They’re toward the back of the border, up on a rocky plateau in fact. Just leave the foliage intact, and wait for next spring? Any annuals that do well in stony soil worth popping in-between?
