I use bagged potting soil for all my indoor potted plants, not outdoor soil. I haven’t grow much indoors except the occasional herb in winter, because of low light conditions this time of year. You can with a light set-up grow some things, but I think stick to a few herbs to start, especially the very easy garlic greens and such, and see how you go.
