Thanks, Margaret. I did a bit of reading up on the heucheras (villosa f. purpurea ‘Bronze Wave’ in the photo, I think) and I think I’ve found a new favourite. They come in wonderful varieties and have tall hosta-like flowers later in the season. Not a ground cover, but the one I photographed was very prolific. I love the ones with variegated leaves. Thanks again. I’m learning so much from this blog and feel my interest in gardening, and plants in general, really starting to take root.
