All the petals are eaten right up to the center on each stem (and the center remains). Any idea on what could be doing this? I appreciate your feedback! July 18, 2010 at 2:27 am #29543 Anonymous Sounds like it might be a caterpillar. Have you seen any of these? Helicoverpa zea, the corn earworm, feeds on flower petals as well as ears of corn (and cotton bolls).
